De afgelopen twintig jaar verloor Londen élk jaar een procent economische ruimte, voornamelijk door transformatie naar wonen.
Met 'The London Plan' gaf de Greater Londen Authority (GLA) de aanzet tot een ommekeer in het beleid.
Samen met de markt zette de metropool afgelopen jaren flinke stappen op het gebied van ruimte voor werk.
STUDIEREIS
Na een succesvolle studiereis die we verzorgen voor de SKBN, stappen vakblad BT en Stadszaken van dinsdag 6 tot en met vrijdag 9 februari opnieuw op de Eurostar naar Londen.
Het programma is een herhaling van de beste onderdelen van de studiereis van afgelopen juni, aangevuld met nieuwe programmaonderdelen.

Ga mee en leer:
>>Hoe de GLA met het kaderstellende London Plan de aanzet gaf voor het borgen van 50 strategische werkgebieden, en met Section106-overeenkomsten nieuwe investeringen in ruimte voor productieve bedrijvigheid afdwingt en daarmee haar rol als maakstad veiligstelt;

>>Hoe Londen in samenwerking met marktpartijen, social enterprises en woningcorporaties complexen met kwalitatief hoogwaardige productieve werkruimtes zoals The Trampery Fish Island Village en Poplar Works ontwikkelt en beschikbaar stelt aan creatieve sectoren als de mode-industrie, en zo haar positie als creatief brandpunt prolongeert.
Rode draad is niet alleen betrokkenheid van planningautoriteiten die afdwingen, stimuleren, faciliteren of zelf investeren zoals met de showcase Barking Industria (dat afgelopen zomer de deuren opende), maar bovenal een creatieve en actieve ondernemersscene en maatschappelijk middenveld dat zélf initiatieven ontplooit.

SEGRO Park, Hayes, is part of the comprehensive mixed-use regeneration of the former Nestlé factory site and an example of the co-location of industrial and residential uses promoted by the London Plan. See also the video of the launch in October 2022 by Deputy Mayor for Planning Jules Pipe.
